VS Code does not recognize outline / document symbols in R scripts

Hi,
I am experiencing an issue where VS Code does not show the document outline (symbols) for R scripts, even though the code itself runs normally.

When opening an .R file, the Outline / Document Symbols panel is empty with No symbols found in decument

Functions, sections, and other top-level symbols are not detected

This happens consistently across different R scripts

Code execution (Run / Ctrl+Enter) works as expected

Environment

OS: Linux (remote server via SSH)

VS Code: 1.108.1

R version：4.3.1

R extension: R (REditorSupport)

R terminal: system R (not radian)

Workspace: remote SSH workspace

I am working on a remote Linux server using VS Code Remote SSH.
The same R scripts work normally in RStudio, including function recognition.
