About Me

I'm a software engineer, a father of four, and resident of Portland, Oregon.

Open Source

I currently work with @huggingface on open-source AI, helping developers bring models directly to users—on their own devices, on their own terms.

Previously, I founded NSHipster and created some of the most widely used open-source libraries in the Apple ecosystem, including AFNetworking and Alamofire. I've worked at Apple, GitHub, Heroku, and Replicate. My code runs on the majority of Apple devices worldwide.

Civic Action

I'm the lead petitioner for MultNoMo, a grassroots initiative to consolidate the governments of Portland and Multnomah County.

Personal

I live in the Alphabet District in a Victorian house built before automobiles. My family is car-free. Most days I take my kids to school on a cargo e-trike 🛺

I believe the means justify the ends: the integrity of the process determines the quality of the outcome.
